Privacy notice.
Dejunk is operated by Encapsulate Group Ltd (company number 11507292), FWB Building, 1st Floor Suite, Whieldon Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 4JE. This notice explains how we use information when you browse the site, request waste removal, list a company or connect Google Calendar.
Last updated: 11 October 2026.
What we collect
For residents, we collect account and contact details, the collection address and postcode, job descriptions, preferred and agreed times, photos, messages, bids, bookings and reviews. For companies, we collect account and business details, waste carrier licence evidence, service areas, listing content, bids, messages, vehicles and subscription records. We also use essential sign-in cookies and, if you enable them, browser push subscription details.
How we use it
We use this information to run the marketplace, match enquiries with eligible companies, let residents compare offers, arrange and manage bookings, provide direct messages, verify companies, handle payments, send service notices, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. The legal bases are providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating a secure marketplace, and legal obligations where applicable. Optional push notifications depend on your browser permission.
Who sees an enquiry
Eligible companies can see the job description, photos and postcode area needed to make an offer. A resident's full address and contact details are made available to the selected company after the resident accepts an offer. For an enquiry sent from a company page, that company can see and respond to the details supplied in the direct message. We do not sell enquiry details to companies as a separate lead list.
After accepting an offer, residents can use Booking privacy to withdraw their details from one or all companies on existing bookings. The member workspace then hides the resident's name, contact details, address, photos, messages and free-text job details. The booking reference, price and date remain. Dejunk tries to update an associated Google Calendar event, but cannot retract information a company already copied, downloaded or shared outside the platform. Residents should contact us for a broader erasure request.
Google Calendar connections
A company member may optionally connect a Google account to a vehicle or skip. Google asks permission to view, create, change and delete events on calendars that account owns. Dejunk uses that access to create, update and remove confirmed booking events in the account's primary calendar. Those events can contain the booking date and time, collection address, customer name and phone number, job description and resource name. The member chooses whether to connect an account and which confirmed jobs to assign to that resource.
We receive the connected Google account email address and an OAuth token. We store the email and an encrypted refresh token so the calendar can stay in sync; we do not store a copy of the member's existing Google events or use Google Calendar data for advertising. Our calendar integration does not share Google user data with advertisers or sell it. Dejunk's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. When a member disconnects a vehicle, we delete the stored connection token and try to remove Dejunk-created synced events. If Google is unavailable, some events may need to be removed manually. Where no other vehicle uses the same Google account, we also ask Google to revoke the app grant. Members can revoke access at any time in their Google Account settings.
Service providers and transfers
Cloudflare hosts the application, its database and media storage, and sends transactional emails. Stripe handles company subscription checkout, tax and invoices; we keep references and payment status, not card numbers. Postcodes.io helps check and locate postcodes. Browser push services deliver notifications when enabled. Google receives booking details only when a company member connects its calendar and assigns a confirmed job. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy arrangements; some processing may occur outside the UK with applicable safeguards.
How long we keep information
Job and direct-enquiry photos stop being available 90 days after the enquiry is submitted. Our private media storage then deletes those photo objects under a 90-day retention rule; the storage process may take up to 24 hours. Company profile images are retained while the listing uses them. We keep account, enquiry and booking records while needed to provide the service, resolve disputes and comply with applicable accounting or legal requirements. Session and password reset tokens expire; connected Google tokens are removed on disconnect. If you ask us to close an account or delete personal information, we will assess what can be removed and what must be retained for those reasons. We will explain any retention that applies to your request.
Your choices and rights
You can update your account and listing details in the dashboard, turn off browser notifications, disconnect Google Calendar, and ask to access, correct or erase your personal information. You may also object to some uses, request restriction or portability where applicable, and complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. For privacy requests, email wayne@encapsulate.group or write to Encapsulate Group Ltd at the address above.
See our terms of use for the marketplace rules. We will update this notice when our data practices change.
